[...] The ride down was great. There was a light snow, but it was a relatively warm day. The trails along the Route Blanche are groomed, and very nice to ride on. I rode on my mother’s new Ski-Doo, which has hand and thumb warmers which makes it even more comfortable. We took our time, and stopped at several of the survival cabins for refreshments. We even stopped to talk with Alexandra and Karl, who are walking along the Coast. [...]

Hi Jason,

There are a bunch of reasons. You make a good point, and I will add an entry about this topic later this fall.

thanks,

Interesting blog! Sorry if I missed it - but what exactly brought you back 'home' to live? How is the coast in general doing economically with the collapse of fishing (at least not bottom-trawlers...)?

Loved the photos! Really made me homesick. Is nice to see a website dedicated to Tabatiere. Was looking on the photos page and spotted a photo of dog teams pulling a house into Tabatiere bay. That's Grandfather Robertson's house being pulled from in on the point by about 65 dog teams.
Would love to hear from anyone from home. I can't seem to get back there!

I've also got a connection to Mutton Bay. I'm 23 now, but spent years 1-6 in a small trailer while Dad was the minister at the neighboring church. My memories are somewhat vague but quite snow-filled. I can remember jumping off the roof into a waiting snowdrift a few feet below. Not sure what reason I'm posting except that I never figured I'd see a discussion board for little 'ol Mutton Bay.
