I've also got a connection to Mutton Bay. I'm 23 now, but spent years 1-6 in a small trailer while Dad was the minister at the neighboring church. My memories are somewhat vague but quite snow-filled. I can remember jumping off the roof into a waiting snowdrift a few feet below. Not sure what reason I'm posting except that I never figured I'd see a discussion board for little 'ol Mutton Bay.

I am very interested in the North Shore as we lived there when I was a child. My brother was born in Mutton Bay. My father Rev.F.W.Mitchell was an Anglican missionary and we lived in a big house near the church. Dad travelled by boat in the summer and dog sled in the winter. The boat was named the Glad Tidings and Dad also sailed the Glad Tidings II from Halifax to Mutton Bay some years later. I have tried to find info on the web regarding this era. Guess things were not recorded so diligently in those days. Mitchell Island is named after my father and my grandfather is buried there. We lived there 1935 to 1940. I hope to go there one day.
